2026 New Zealand Finance Meeting

The AUT Centre for Financial Research (ACFR) at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, Auckland University of Technology, hosts its 15th annual meeting and PhD Student Symposium from 14 to 16 December 2026. This year’s conference will take place at Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand, a city where sparkling harbours, surf beaches, island sanctuaries, and native forests are complemented by world-class food and wine and a vibrant culture. We welcome submissions on all topics related to the field of finance.

Paper Submission

The deadline for paper submissions is 15 July 2026.

Authors will be notified of the outcome of their submission before 15 August 2026. Conference registration will be open from 1 August 2026 to 1 October 2026.

Zacharias Sautner, Professor of Sustainable Finance, University of Zurich, Switzerland

Zacharias is Professor of Sustainable Finance at University of Zurich and Senior Chair at the Swiss Finance Institute. He works on sustainable finance, ESG, climate finance, and biodiversity finance. Through his research, he provides insights on how finance can contribute to a more sustainable future.

His research has been published in top journals, such as the Journal of FinanceReview of Financial Studies, or Journal of Financial Economics, has downloaded more than 130,000 times on SSRN and cited more than 14,000 times according to Google Scholar. His paper "Firm-level Climate Change Exposure" is the most cited paper published in the Journal of Finance in the past 5 years. He is an Associate Editor at the Review of Financial StudiesManagement Science, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and an advisor of asset management companies on sustainable finance issues. He serves as a Director of the European Finance Association and on the judging panel for the PRI Awards.

At University of Zurich, Zacharias heads the Initiative in Sustainable Finance, one of the world's leading clusters for research on sustainability.
